This Privacy Policy explains how Game Vibe ("the app", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the app. Game Vibe is a venue guide and live scores app for World Cup 2026 in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
The short version: Game Vibe does not require an account, does not sell your data, and does not collect personal information like your name or email. The only data we store is anonymous, device-local data and anonymous crowd-level reports for venues.
With your permission, Game Vibe uses your device's location while the app is in use to sort and display nearby venues by distance and to power "near me" search in the AI assistant. Your location is processed on your device and is never stored on our servers or shared with third parties.
Game Vibe stores some information locally on your device using standard mobile storage (AsyncStorage). This includes:

Game Vibe lets users report how busy a venue currently is (e.g. "Empty", "Moderate", "Packed"). When you submit a crowd report, we store the following in our database (Firebase/Firestore):
These reports are anonymous — we do not store your name, device ID, account information, or location alongside a report. Reports are used only to calculate a live "how busy is it right now" estimate shown to all users, and automatically age out of that calculation after 90 minutes.
If you use the AI assistant feature, your question (and, for voice questions, a transcript of your audio) is sent to our secure backend, which forwards it to OpenAI's API to generate a response. This is used only to answer your question and is not linked to your identity. We do not store a history of your AI conversations on our servers.

Game Vibe displays live football scores, standings, and schedules using third-party sports data providers (including football-data.org, balldontlie.io, and official league APIs for NBA, NHL, MLB, and NFL where applicable). No personal information is sent to these providers — only generic requests for match and league data.
Venue details, photos, and locations shown in the app are sourced from publicly available information about bars, pubs, and sports venues in the GTA. Venue images are served via Cloudinary, a cloud image hosting service.
If you enable notifications, Game Vibe may send you alerts before matches start (e.g. a 30-minute heads-up) and suggestions to find venues near you. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. The limited data described above may be shared with the following service providers solely to operate the app:

Locally stored data remains on your device until you delete the app or clear its data. Anonymous crowd reports are retained in our database but only factor into the "live" crowd calculation for 90 minutes after submission; older reports are simply ignored by the app and may be periodically deleted.
Game Vibe is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
